TRANSPORTING DOGS IS VERY HELPFUL!!

Every aspect of rescue is important. Sadly, more often than not, it's a matter of life or death. We need to be able to fill transports so we can save the lives of many dogs in shelters from being euthanized. If we are unable to fill a transport with volunteer drivers, they may face euthanasia due to shelters "needing to make room" for other dogs coming in.

Transporting a dog(s) entails picking up a dog(s) from a driver in one town and then driving anywhere from 50 - 100 miles to another town (depending on what the transport request says). You will then meet another driver who will then in turn do the same. Once you have transferred the dog(s) to the other driver, you are required to call the transport coordinator and check in as all transports are monitored. Once the dog(s) reaches it's destination, an email will be sent to all involved to thank them and let them know that the dog(s) is safe and sound.

A lot of drivers like to be updated on the dogs they have transported and you can do this by going on the website at our dogs available link and/or success stories.

If you want to help with transports, be put on the transport mailing list, or learn more about transports, please email Murphy, Transport Coordinator for BrightStar German Shepherd Rescue.

Thank you, and I look forward to working with you in the future !!! Drive safe
