** Hans and Sasha **

** Dakota **

** Kaysa **

Kaysa was a an Ohio stray on deathrow. She was minutes from her death when fellow rescue saved her for BrightStar. She now lives in Binghamton, NY with her mom, dad and feline friends.

She sometimes gets to go to work with her mom, who works with disabled children. She really enjoys all the attention and love her new family has given her.

** Cheo **

Cheo has found his forever home in Hannibal, NY. He will have acres of room to run, and lots of attention from Marion and her mother. They also have several cats and horses - and recently adopted another BrightStar dog - Lizzie (see photo below!).

Cheo is a gorgeous, large, 5 year old, purebred, male, that was saved by BrightStar from a local shelter. He was in the "unadoptable" cages because he was not being very neighborly with the other dogs - and was thought to be "dog aggressive". He had purebred papers, and his previous family had surrendered him to the shelter because they no longer had time for him. He had never been socialized with other dogs, or had ever been away from his previous home. With his size and play drive - it was no wonder he was stressed at the shelter. He was extremely happy to leave there, and after a short time at his foster home, he proved himself to be a wonderful and loving dog - with a real youthful spirit and passion to play ball.

When Marion and her mother met Cheo at training one Saturday - it was love at first sight (he IS very handsome!). They couldn't wait to make him a permanent part of their family. Cheo will never go thru the trauma of being lonely or abandoned again - and, is one lucky dog to have found such a wonderful new family. They have kept in touch, and just adore Cheo. He's doing so well, they were ready to adopt another BrightStar dog as well.

** Mully **

Mulligan is the perfect addition to our family. He is quite the charmer and won our hearts over the moment we set eyes on him. He's obedient, respectful, and has the character of an old soul wise beyond his years.

He's the harmless, sweet, old man at a party that always manages to attract the attention of all the ladies. No one can resist rubbing the belly of the "Mully Man!" Gary and I are amazed every day that such asweet, lovable creature was misunderstood by so many humans before the BrightStar organization stepped in to save his life from being destroyed at a shelter last Christmas. With a little love, consistency, and patience he has turned out to be the best companion we could ever ask for. After a long hard day at work, Mully's sweet face and wagging tail at the door is just the stress reliever we need!- Cheryl

** Glory **

As a foster, it is a mixed, emotional situation: Letting Go but knowing your foster has found their Forever Home. Glory has found her Happy Forever Home with Arlene and Charlie from Pennsylvania. I knew this was the perfect match for Glory. When your new mom and dad drive three hours to meet you and with a new collar and leash in hand, they fall in love with you immediately (personally, I know Arlene and Charlie fell in love with Glory before they ever laid eyes on her). With tears in my eyes, as I helped Glory in their vehicle and said my good- byes, I felt that sense of closure, that I had done exactly what I had set out to do and that was to find Glory the Perfect Forever Home. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED !!!!!!!!
Thanks Arlene and Charlie, from Glory's foster mom, Rose

** Dusty Rose (Gracie) **

**Calea**

Calea was the last of the "C" Litter to adopt. These were the four sable pups from Kentucky, three of whom had docked tails. Somehow Calea escaped the docking-possibly because she was the runt? She is a bouncy, happy, extremely intelligent little girl who we at BrightStar look forward to seeing grow up.

She recently joined her new mom in the Fairport, NY area. Calea has two cat friends (well-she thinks they are her friends, they are getting used to her) and like all dogs should be, will be very spoiled! Calea will be attending obedience classes soon-where she is sure to be a standout-and may even try agility, too! She will have a very best dog friend, Pele at her aunt's house, where she will be spending time while her mom is at work. The best thing about this is that Calea chose her new mom at training one Saturday by plopping right down in her lap-something that she did not routinely do. It was the connection her new mom was looking for and we are glad to say it was a mutual decision!

**Lizzie **

**Lexi **

Lexi came to my house full of parasites and in need of love and care. Even when she felt her worse she never showed it, she was always wagging her tail and waiting for your approval. From the moment I laid eyes on her I was hooked and knew she would be a challenge to give up. I couldn't figure out how someone could dump this sweet beautiful girl off at a vet clinic in Arkansas and never worry about what happened to her. Well that will never happen again. Lexi has found her forever home here with her foster mom. She is a wonderful addition to our home and she lights up any room. She is finally gaining weight and playing like a puppy should, she especially loves to play with my shih tzu and kitten. Lexi is a very intelligent, special girl and will excel with the right training and the love she deserves. She is one happy girl now and it will forever stay that way!

**Lara **

Lara was one of several pure bred German Shepherd puppies dumped in a southern shelter by her breeder. Just too many pups to sell , so after 8-10 wks the excess was dumped. TOO old to sell now and why waste the money to vaccinate. Matter -of-fact, the same breeder had another entire litter die of Parvo before BrightStar could save them. Lara joined a wonderful family in the Buffalo, NY area.  The family had previous adopted an German Shepherd Dog from BrightStar the year before! Yep- That's HUTCH! Today all four make one big happy family.

**Sarge **

**Montana (alias Schatzie)**

We just wanted BrightStar to know that Montana aka Schatzie is a great addition to our family. We all just love him. Hannah, our 8 month old, has taken a definite liking to him. He is so good about her touching him. When friends come over and pick up Hannah, Montana runs over to them as if to say "Hurt her, and I'll kill you."

Montana just loves the attention he is getting. He is certainly a 'LOVE BUG'. We truly love him and couldn't be happier.

**Lainey (Lady) **

Lainey (Lady) came from PA. as a surrender to stay a short while with us. From the very beginning she was truly a very sweet and kind little girl who just lovedany attention that she could get. She did need a little work on her confidence but soon over came most of that with a little love and kindness shown her way.

Lady loves to ride in the car and sometimes she would even get in the car just to "hang out."

Her new parents the Holms from Connecticut, are havings o much fun with her. They have decided to change her name to Lainey and her are some comments from her new Mom Sharon: We are truly blessed to have found your rescue group and our lovely "Lainey" (Lady). She is agift. She is the sweetest, easiest- going girl. Congratulations to the Holms for finding their little girl through BrightStar. They make such a great family.

-Carrie (Laniey Foster Mom)

**Odin **

Odin has been with us for a month now. He has acclimated quite well and quickly. My two boys, ages 5 and 2 love him like a brother, and Odin has gotten very attached to them as well. We started obedience training 3 weeks ago and he is the STAR!! Everywhere we go, people comment what a good looking dog he is. In fact, my vet was surprised that he was a mix breed. But for his soft ears, he truly looks all German shepherd. We are so happy to have him in our lives now; he makes our family complete. Thank you BrightStar for fostering him and bringing him from Kentucky to Rochester.
