**Bo**

Bo & Ansha (both BrightStar dogs) have been adopted by Leann - a BrightStar volunteer. As for Ansha. she was our foster & we fell in love with her & adopted her !

**Meika**

Meika was never listed on the website...she was a older dog with some health issues from Binghamton, NY. Then she was adopted to a couple that saw her photo on the shelter site
and have corresponded with me ever since. I thought she should have a happy ending, though.
"Friday the 13th proved to be a lucky day for Meika (aka Molly) as after years of neglect and bad health, she began a new life with John and Tee Willis. I think it is safe to say that she can be called "Princess Meika" from now on!!

**Vince**

Chaz now "Vince" is doing great. He went trick or treating with Sonja this year (no costume - we are dog lovers, after all) and will be celebrating his first birthday on Thanksgiving. I picked Thanksgiving so that lots of people would be here to help us celebrate!! He is getting bigger and bigger and is doing great at school. He has mastered every command, except "down." He likes to do that on his own terms. He really is a super dog and we are just loving him more every singe day! He has some friends at school and others in the neighborhood.
Best,
Sheila

**Kasey**

Kasey was our first foster and we couldn't ask for a better. She did come to us heartworm positive, and had to go through treatment. Treatment was difficult for her, she has every side effect known to man. And to think if she had been cared for with a once a month treatment she would have never had to go through that.
Kasey is the queen of the house. She rules the other 3 German Shepherd Dogs that we have, and yet can be so gentle. We have had a couple of occasions where a orphaned kitten and pup needed our help. Because the orphans were so young they still needed to be stimulated to potty, Kasey was more then willing to take the mother role there. If one of the orphans woke up during the night she would wake me to take care of them. Kasey also has her very own little girl to play with. She quickly learned that is she stay next to the child while the child was eating, something would surely hit the floor! Kasey has been a wonderful addition to our family and we thank BrightStar for letting us adopt her. - Kay |
**Rudy**

Rudy at 12 weeks old
Rudy was rescued from Manhattan at the age of 12 weeks old. Little did we know that he was going to worm his way into our heart and soul the moment we met him. He is the only young man I know that had to take the metro east to get to me, another rescue friend took the train with him so that he could make his way home. Rudy now enjoys life in Upstate NY, where he gets to run and play with 2 sister, Kasey pictured above, and a brother, Denver, soon to be pictured here also. This young man loves life to the fullest!

**Dudley**

Dudley (R) joined his forever home on September 30th, 2006. He is pictured here with his new Dad, Mom and Brother Tango. Tango was also a BrightStar dog, he was adopted on April 20th, 2006. They also have a human sister that they just love. Dudley and Tango both live in a great home in Akron, New York with lots of land to run and play, many toys to play with and bones to chew. But the best thing they have is a forever family that loves them unconditionally.

**Napster**

Napster is the best dog I have ever owned. His whole day is dedicated to trying to please me. He loves his car rides. Even though he is very hard of hearing, his other senses make up for it. He is spoiled rotten. Every night at bedtime, he has to be covered up with a baby blanket and he leaves it on most of the night. |
**Annika**

Annika came to BrightStar in very bad shape. (Before she arrived, from the 2 puppies that we were getting, I said "give me the one that is in worse shape". (For I was closer to Macedon Veterinary Care than the other fosters were for Deter her brother). She had demodetic mange; swollen paws; open, weepy sores all over her body; and severely underweight. She had not known what the feel of grass was under her feet , she couldn't walk up or down stairs [thank goodness she was 43 lbs I could lift her up and down then!] and she was unable to run at all. When outside she was always under me at my feet with her tail tucked in (that you had to be careful not to step on her). I felt bad being the foster mom that had to dispense all the yucky medicine and be a part of the baths that Annika had to get. (Throughout this Annika has never shown a dislike for me, it's actually the opposite. She is always watching me. I think she knew what I was doing was in her best interest to get her feeling happy again). That was the 'old Annika'.
The 'new Annika' has a taste for what life should really be. Running next to her brother Harley (he is fast and Annika keeps up!); she explores her big backyard all by herself. She runs up and down stairs, she knows what grass is and no longer has a problem with it. Annika has gained 20 lbs and looks wonderful! Despite what this puppy has been through she loves everyone she has met (human or canine - I still work with her on the kitties). She does minds her older sister Tory.
Annika is still on strong antibiotics for her paws, but she's come a long way, from losing her fur to growing fur back everywhere! Because Annika went through so much it was hard to let her go. She's a great 'baby puppy"!

**Jordan (aka Steele) **

We can't say enough about our wonderful Jordan...He is so sweet and affectionate, and loves to be hugged and cuddled. He greets us with a lot of whining and kissing whenever we've been apart (even for a few hours). He follows us around everywhere, and is always trying to get us interested in playing ball. He is so full of spunk and is the most athletic dog we've ever owned - he's definitely going to help us stay in shape! He is a beautiful runner and LOVES to go tearing after the Frisbee and gracefully catch it in mid-air (which is no mean feat in our deep snow drifts!). He also races after tennis balls, and could really do this all day and all night long, except that he tires his humans out after awhile! He likes to be a guardian of the house, so he barks at the least hint of a suspicious noise, including the chimes on our wall clock! Jordy gets along very well with our "elder" cat Jake, and even tries to get Jake interested in his tennis ball. We can't thank BrightStar enough for the wonderful work all of you do, matching up such beautiful rescued shepherds with their very appreciative families. We are so grateful to you for helping to bring Jordan into our lives. Bless you all! |
